VALERECO

The Horizon Europe project VALERECO is coordinated by the Agricultural University of Athens and Assoc. Prof. Ilias Travlos. It aims to promote the adoption of legume crops and highlight their role in the transition towards sustainable, productive, climate-neutral, and resilient farming systems.

The project will quantify and enhance the environmental and economic value of Ecosystem Services provided by these crops, while encouraging farming diversification across the EU and Associated Countries. At its core, VALERECO will establish 9 Living Labs across the EU, building a legume-crop ecosystem of multiple actors who will become future adopters and designers of legume-based diversified cropping systems.
